So, if you aren’t the average height and swing the average speed and have the average angle of approach to the ball, you’re playing compensation golf. You are changing your swing to compensate for the club not fitting you properly. Why Buy Anything Else? Every time we make a purchase, we look for a custom fit. The right size in a pair of shoes, the exact match of tires to your car and the same spices in a recipe. Shoes too small will hurt your feet. Tires for an F-150 won’t fit your Camry. And chili pepper isn’t the best substitute for oregano. When it comes to golf clubs, if they don’t fit your swing, you’re not playing the best golf you’re capable of playing.

The root of the club fitting process rests with the lie angle of the club, the key to the position of the clubface at impact. Ideally, we want the clubface to be square to the target at impact. If the toe of the clubface is leading through the impact area, the ball will start right of the target. If it is the heel that leads through impact, the ball will start left of the target. Working from the impact area and up, being custom fit is a serious evaluation of what it takes for you to get the most from your golf clubs. You’ll see the difference… in your shots, and your score.
